We also do decking. When we build decking this close to the ground we paint it even though the wood is already treated. This gives it a really nice aesthetic finish.
We painted this one black as it hid any wood colouring between the gaps in the decking itself. A porous membrane was installed to allow water through but not weeds. We also built a matching fence as you can see in the images.
