Glamping
CONVERSION
During lockdown when we were only really allowed to do decking we were keen to keep busy and look at other projects. As none of us were allowed to go abroad we decided to build our own glamping carriage from scratch, a Pullman train carriage too.
Carl, our joiner, who's been with IDP for over 25 years did a remarkable job of working from a drawing, planning and ordering raw materials.
We ended up taking it to National Agricultural Centre for a show and we ended up winning the award for Best Glamping Unit.
We sold the carriage to Apple Camping in Tenby in West Wales who also wanted a smaller, baby carriage which we duly built for him as well and assembled on-site.
He let us stay in a converted A320 airplane fuselage which was a great experience.
